A Focke-Wulf FW-190A model with a BMW Radial engine.

This is the FW-190 D9 model. Although it looks like a radial engine, it is actually an in-line Jumo engine with an annular inlet (round) cowling. This one is in the USAF Museum in Ohio. More pics (including the cockpit) here:

The ultimate development was the TA-152H, optimized for high-altitude interception. It was too late to see duty in WWII. More here:

The Focke-Wulf FW-190 was a potent and respected adversary that immediately made the current Spitfire obsolete when the German airplane reached front line service. Continuously updated to keep pace with the crucible of combat flight operations, the FW-190 saw widespread use all over Europe.
